Child Sponsorship:

 A Personal Story.

Monica, Anto and Vatche are siblings. They live at the Birds' Nest because their father is blind and disabled, and their mother struggles care for him, as well as a young baby. She could not cope with the three children as well. Both parents are unemployed and live in very poor conditions.

The boys attend the Kindergarten at Birds' Nest, whilst Monica is in the 2nd Grade at the Yeghishe Manoukian College, where all the Birds' Nest Children go to school from the 1st Grade.

The children live in one of the Birds' Nest houses, with a ‘Housemother' who looks after them. Each day they receive nutritional meals, including fruit and vegetables grown on site. (Pomegranates, Bananas, Oranges etc.) Monica goes to school each day by bus, and comes back to the Birds' Nest for lunch.  She spends some time in the evening doing homework, under the supervision of a caring assistant teacher. The Birds' Nest provides a happy, stable and safe environment for the children, and they will stay here permanently, or until such a time that their mother is able to look after them again.
